The New Digs
I've been planning to move to a new and "less immediately searchable" site for a while. Taking a page out of Flavia's (f.k.a. La Lecturess) book, I'm making the change to commemorate my recently celebrated first blogiversary, my new job starting soon, Springtime, flowers blooming, birds singing...you get the picture.
Today, funnily enough, is also the day that the Dutchman was born as well as the Furballs (who are true brother and sister)! The Furballs are 9 and the Dutchman is...slightly older (see above picture for two of the birthday kids - the Dutchman is holding Furball #2 - note the extremely pleased look on F #2's face...)
As for the new title of my blog - I will FedEx a Twinkie to anyone who knows which text it came from (there's a slightly longer hint at the bottom of the blog). Hilaire, I know Furball #1 whispered it in your ear already, but I will bring you a twinkie when we come to visit!

Hey, great look! Welcome to your new digs!
Yeah, real purty! Congrats on the move!
Thanks ladies! I am not a rolling stone, therefore moss grows on me. I do not mind, though.
Welcome!
Nice place! Can we throw you a housewarming party? I brought some chips and booze.
Ooh, Par-tay! I have some homemade margaritas!
I've got the whiskey!
Congrats on your new place--it'll look a little the worse for wear once this party's over, but that's the way to break it in, right?
Your new blog is lovely! Happy house-warming.
Kitty!
*Cough*
Nice new digs. :D Have a cosmo.
All right! I like the way you all think! I'll make some queso dip and fresh guacomole. We actually had a big party for the Dutchman's birthday last night, so why bother cleaning when the party will continue??? :)
Thanks for coming over!
I'll get Bullock to bake a cake!
Happy blog-warming!
Hello! Am I too late? I brought chips and salsa! Nice place! Err, it will be once you've cleaned up the rave in progress. Have fun blogging!
Nice new name and digs! I came over from Absurdist Paradise, *specifically* because of the title, which, unless I'm much mistaken, is from The Last Unicorn...
Ah, Jane! Thanks for coming by and you are indeed correct! It is from The Last Unicorn. I just taught this in class after not having read it for years and I was physically struck again by how much I loved that description. It's one of the most saturated images I've ever read.
Tell me where you want your Twinkie sent and I hope that you stop by again!
How did I miss this earlier?? (I am so behind on blog-reading... I wondered why there weren't more posts showing up in my bloglines!) I love the Last Unicorn phrase, too - hell, I love the Last Unicorn; one of my favorite books!w
